Placement Settings & Configuration
In Spike the place where ads will actually be served i.e the allocated area for ads on any publishers platform is called a placement.
A publisher is expected to define all placements from Placement module.
Spike offers plenty of configurable options for placement setup.
Configuration
- Placement Title is to identify placement itself, publisher is to identify which publisher this placement belongs to.
- Publisher can create placement groups and place same page placements in a single group, or a slider/carousal placements in a single group.
- CPD (Cost per Day) , CPW (Cost per Week) , CPC (Cost per Click) and CPM (Cost per Mille) can be set here at placement level, if not then default values set at publisher level will be used.
- Object type contains the logic of campaign ad creation and ad serving, from the list of possible options we have Main Banner , Strip Banner , Product(s) , Search , Brand(s) , Popup , Push Notification , Content Card , Carousal and Other.
- Main Banner , Strip Banner , Carousal and Other allows image as well raw html type ads with the image creative being mandatory and product selection optional.
- Product(s) and Search allows image + product selection with the image creative being optional.
- Brand(s) allows image + brand selection with the image creative being optional.
- Popup allows image as well raw html type ads with the image creative being mandatory. There can only be one Popup type placement inside a group.
- Push Notification and Content Card allows image type ad with the image creative being optional. They also have system defined fixed meta data which is mandatory. There is an option for integration with one-signal or custom implementation for these types of placements.
- Placement Size can be chosen from given pre-defined standard values , in other cases there is custom input as well. Scroll below in selection options and select Use Custom Size and then specify width and height. Whatever size is set here is used in response while serving ads.
- Position priority tells us the position of this placement inside its placement group.
- Ad Meta data option allows us to add whatever meta data we want tied to this placement as a mandatory required input from advertisers while creating ads on this placement. User can add as many keys as they want against a placement. Keys can be defined as a normal text input or a selection option.
- Placement Meta data option allows us to add whatever meta data we want tied to this placement as extra information. User can add as many key-values as they want against a placement.
- Placement View gives an option to view basic settings on that placement as well as a performace chart showing statistics of that placement.
Interconnected UI allows publisher to create placement back to back sequentially by clicking on Finish and Create New.
